ASOBI means play in Japanese. We also use ASOBI in the context of having a small space or a moment, particularly in a context of having a sense of relaxation.

I welcome you to experience ASOBI in your life with me in this retreat!

Here, I intend to create a light hearted non-doing and non-judgemental space, breaths to open, movements to clear out, stillness to be in the emptiness and also the sounds, souls to connect to, energies to be inspired by, nature to nurture you, food to nourish, and fire to warm us!

I call for friends who crave this in your life or you may just want to hang out with me! Retreat is a special way to meet yourself as you are, charge up the juice and to reset your life, going forward.

About the programme*;

11 August 2024 (Sunday)

Arrive and settle into the tranquil ambiance of our retreat space, immersing yourself in the spirit of ASOBI during our welcoming circle where we set intentions for a journey of light-hearted exploration. Indulge in a sumptuous dinner prepared with care by our talented chefs, known for their expertise in crafting wholesome meals using locally sourced ingredients. After dinner, unwind and soak in the serenity of the surroundings, allowing yourself to fully embrace the beginning of your retreat experience.

12 August 2024 (Monday)

Awaken your senses with a morning session of pranayama and yoga, followed by a heartwarming breakfast lovingly prepared by our chefs. Reconnect with your inner child as you join the daylight dance floor, letting go and embracing the joy of movement. Refuel with a delicious lunch provided, then enjoy free time in the afternoon to explore or simply relax. As the day winds down, surrender to the calming practice of yin yoga before savoring another delectable dinner under the stars.

13 August 2024 (Tuesday)

Start your day with a mindful meditation and invigorating flow yoga practice, followed by a nourishing breakfast to fuel your body and soul. Engage in an enriching workshop and refuel with a satisfying lunch served at the retreat center. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, whether it's exploring the surrounding nature trails or simply basking in the peaceful atmosphere. Come together in the evening for dinner and a heartfelt sharing circle, where you can reflect on your experiences and connect with fellow retreat participants.

14 August 2024 (Wednesday)

As the retreat draws to a close, pack up your belongings and check out, bidding farewell to the tranquil haven that has nurtured your soul over the past few days. Before departing, soak your bones in our last practice and a nourishing breakfast before returning to the outside world refreshed and renewed.

Nestled in Byron Bay Hinterland, home of our retreat sprawls over 170 acres of pristine countryside, offering a sacred space for reflection and rejuvenation, architecturally designed to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. They are committed to environmental sustainability, harmony with nature, preserving its beauty for future generations.

Guests enjoy exclusive access to a serene yoga studio, along with rejuvenating amenities like an infrared sauna and magnesium pool for deep relaxation.

Each room is thoughtfully appointed with comforting touches and eco-conscious essentials, ensuring a nourishing and restorative experience that transcends physical comforts.

About the food; 

  • locally sourced, prioritising farmers that use organic and regenerative practices.
  • refined-sugar free.
  • gluten-free except for slowly fermented sourdough from bread circle (served at breakfast), spelt pasta, wholemeal flour flatbreads and organic pearl cous cous. Gluten-free options available.
  • dairy-free except the occasional use of bio- dynamic yogurt,local cheese and homemade ghee using Nimbin Valley butter.
  • organic eggs from Oliver's Hens
  • free of processed oils. Cooked with coconut, homemade ghee or cold pressed Grumpy Grandma's olive oil.
  • balanced with Murray River Salt which is 100% Australian and harvested using sustainable methods.

About the area;

Set amidst the serene beauty of the Byron Hinterland, the retreat provides a gateway to explore the enchanting surroundings. Against a backdrop of rolling hills and lush valleys, our accommodations offer a cozy sanctuary where guests can immerse themselves in the natural splendor of the area. Nearby, the charming town of Mullumbimby invites exploration with its bohemian charm and vibrant community, while Brunswick Heads, just a short drive away, offers the exhilarating opportunity for whale watching during the winter months.

How to get here;

Closest port access from Coolangatta or Ballina Airport.

Carriers serving these airports are Jetstar, Virgin, and Qantas.

The accommodation is 35 minutes dive from Coolangatta and 40 minutes drive from Ballina Airport.

Group taxi/uber share can be organised closer to date.

Booking and Payment:

  • To secure your place on the yoga retreat, A deposit of AUD 600 is required at the time of booking.
  • Payments can be made via EFT. 
  • All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include applicable taxes.
  • Full payment is due no later than 90 days (13 May 24) prior to the start date of the retreat.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations made 90 days (13 May 24) or more before the start date of the retreat will receive a full refund of the retreat fee, minus an AUD 600 deposit. If you have a replacement attendee(s), the deposit will be fully refunded.
  • Cancellations made less than 90 days before until 60 days (12 June 24) to the start date of the retreat will receive a refund of 40% of the full retreat fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 60 days (12 June 24) before the start date of the retreat will not be eligible for a refund.

Host;

Eriko

A relatable, life-loving yogini, Eriko has been immersed in the practice of yoga for the past two decades. Making her way from Japan to Australia 20 years ago, she now calls Byron Bay home. Once a corporate girl, now a yoga teacher and a coach. Eriko finds joy in sharing the wisdom of yoga through asana with preciseness and flow, invigorating and calming breath work with a sense of ease.

Her modern interpretation of ancient Eastern philosophy extends to all aspects of life, including thoughts, actions, food, relating to others, and fostering harmony within oneself.

With a passion for guiding others towards harmony and helping them achieve their dreams, Eriko also offers coaching services that aim to benefit both individuals and the world.
